Surprise Performances, Exclusive Drops, and More at ComplexCon 2019

The 4th annual ComplexCon Long Beach at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center took place this past weekend. The two-day festival takes place in Downtown, Long Beach and serves as a catalyst for creative collaboration between the most influential people and hottest brands. The end result is an undeniable force that strives to move our culture forward.

The weekend served as a “Pop Culture Super Bowl” with exclusive drops, unexpected celebrity visits, inspiring discussions, brilliant brand activations, never before seen art & fashion, and high-energy music performances. In addition to releasing the hottest fashion forward items, attendees can hear inspirational chats with top celebs and enjoy nightly performances.

Celebs over the weekend include: Selena Gomez, LL Cool J, Lil Kim, Offset, Kid Cudi, Lil Yachty, Timothee Chalamet, Yara Shahidi, Tyga, Usher, Chance The Rapper, Lil Kim, Dwyane Wade, Black Eyed Peas, Steve Aoki, Anderson .Paak, DaBaby, 21 Savage, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, YBN Crew, and Rico Nasty, and more. 

Attendees were able to enjoy performances by: Pop Smoke, EarthGang, Lil Kim, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage and DaBaby!During Saturday afternoon, Elaine Welteroth, Yara Shahidi, Storm Reid, Isra Hirsi andThandiwe Abdullah moved the crowd with a powerful and inspiring conversation on Disruption: How Gen Z is Taking Control. Rapper Wale graced the ComplexCon Conversations stage to chat The Rise of Afropop – where it is now and where it’s going next.

Attendees were able to shop hundreds of exclusive releases from the most sought-after brands, catch stunning live performances, watch inspiring talks from the most influential minds in our culture, and experience the future through the most immersive and ambitious pop culture experience yet.


The transformation of ComplexCon was prominently seen this year. Walking into the convention center attendees had to carefully, and selectively, pick which brands were at the top of their list. Hours were spent as attendees lined up to see the latest collaboration and hottest gear. Brands may have given away less swag this year than previous years, however, the increase of participation from various celebrities was a nice trade off!

Night one delivered performances by  Pop Smoke, EarthGang, Lil Kim and Kid Cudi, and was anything but chill. The crowd was more than ready as it was time for hip-hop’s “Queen Bee” to do what only she can! The crowd roared as Lil Kim hit the stage to perform some of her classic hits including “Get Money,” “Magic Stick,” “Crush on You,” and a Biggie tribute that had the whole venue singing along.  Closing out the day was Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum trailblazer Kid Cudi, who shut the house down with hits like “Pursuit of Happiness” “Up, Up and Away,” “Soundtrack 2 My Life,” “Day ‘N’ Nite” and “Mr. Rager.”

The floor was buzzing with celeb sightings including Pharrell withNigo at the Billionaire Boys Club ICECREAM x Reebok booth; Lupe Fiasco andTy Dolla $ign playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare; Timothee Chalamet opening Kid Cudi’s set with a powerful spoken word performance! Also seen taking in all the culture on the ComplexCon showroom floor were Offset, Lil Pump, Tinashe, Chuck D andLA Rams Running Back Todd Gurley, andNFL free agent Marshawn Lynch.

Night two at ComplexCon was equally amazing! More drops, more celeb appearances and even more performances and tons of surprises! 

DaBaby took on the First We Feast’s Hot Ones Live challenge with host Sean Evans and was ready for the heat, rolling up with a bowl of ice cream as his secret weapon. Unfortunately, his sweet treat couldn’t shield him from the legendary Hot Ones spice!

Crowds flocked to the Pigeons & Planes Stage powered by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for another surprise announcement…DaBaby was now added to the lineup and hitting the stage in minutes. He performed his hottest tracks from Kirkand Baby on Baby. The crowd was lit.  There were crazy giant babies going wild on stage and Stunna 4 Vegas came out to perform several songs. DaBaby dove into the crowd and performed the majority of his set from the shoulders of his security guard. His set included “Shug,” “Going Baby,” Baby Sitter,” “100 or Better,” “VIBEZ,” and “BOP.”

Guests suddenly received an alert on their phones that 21 Savage, who was not previously announced, was hitting the Pigeons & Planes Stage powered by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The crowd was fired up as he lit up the stage performing hits such as: “Red Opps,” “Don’t Come Out The House,” ”Rockstar,” “Bartier Cardi,” and “Bank Account.” 

Anderson Paak did not disappoint as he closed out the 4th Annual ComplexCon Long Beach with an electrifying set and compilation of his most famous singles including: “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance,” “Come Down,” “ King James,” “6 Summers,” and “Bubblin.”

The 4th Annual ComplexCon provided an elevated day of exclusive drops, surprise celebrity appearances, crazy creative brand activations, provocative art & style, powerful discussions, and hype music performances. Until next year!
