Written by Thomas J. Misuraca and directed by Stephanie O’Neill, TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT asks what the deadliest game of all is. When a group of partying kids decide to mix games and alcohol, things take an unexpected turn. (Alexandra Deaver, Harry Gillette, Lee Gordon, Jeannette Srinivasan).

Author and director Darrin Yalacki warns that people sometimes aren’t what they seem when a pair of lovers go off for a romantic weekend in FLES WODAHS (Jeannette Srinivasan, Lee Gordon, Jasmine Rivera).
As an added bonus, witchy Whitney Bowers hosts and shares her views on life in THE WITCHING HOUR.
THE CRINGE FESTIVAL is a cute but not so scary collection of short skits billed as one act plays. Clearly, the actors are having the time of their lives screaming, shouting, and dropping to the floor. Perhaps the best part of the show was the brevity of each skit. Probably the strongest Champion of the Night was Whitney Bowers, who introduced the show and later performed a monologue to close the festival. The net result of CRINGE FESTIVAL is pre-Halloween amateur night in North Hollywood. It’s fun and will not overwhelm your brain cells, and you even get a bag of candy before the show without having to trick or treat.
CRINGE FESTIVAL (2024) runs through October 27, 2024 with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays. The Write Act Repertory performs at The Brickhouse Theatre, 10950 Peach Grove Street, North Hollywood, CA 91601. Tickets are $25 (seniors/ students $20; $30 at door).
