Sustainable cosmetics utilize natural, organic, and responsibly sourced ingredients, avoiding synthetic chemicals and artificial additives. These ingredients are non-toxic to both people and the environment, and are harvested in methods that preserve natural resources.
Italy is well-known for its high-quality ingredients, making it a great theme for the event. Participation from eco-friendly brands on-site included products from Davines, Rudy Profumi Srl, Naturalis, Confalonieri, Alter Ego, Fontana Contarini, Lisap Milano- Lisaplex, Essentia,and Olivella. The country’s rich history and varied landscapes allow beauty companies to source organic ingredients right from local farms, like extracts and oils from lemons, olives, and honey. With skilled manufacturers and modern technology, these top-notch ingredients play a key role in creating Italy’s famous and creative beauty products. Guests were treated to a panel of experts, including Francesca Maturi, Head of Business Development at Cosmoprof Worldwide, who expressed the importance of pure products, as well as information on the latest news and advancements from sustainable labels based in the country.
Founded in Parma, Italy, in 1983 by the Bollati family, Davines Group began as a research laboratory specializing in high-end hair care products for prestigious cosmetic companies around the globe. Jess at Davines spoke to the authenticity of their hair products and Davines packaging is carbon neutral thanks to their partnership with EthioTrees. Some of their product lines feature refillable options, and their packaging is designed to reduce waste. Additionally, Davines has teamed up with Plastic Bank to recover ocean-bound plastic and recycle it into new raw materials.
Rudy Profumi, Srl since 1920 has provided cosmetics as the art of blending appearance and essence. This passion has been passed down through generations in Rudy from Spiridione Calabrese and the success of his discovery stemmed from his hard work in his small hairdressing shop on Via San Paolo in Milan. Rudy Profumi is committed to an ethical approach to its supply chain and labor as well as its moral approach to its use of recyclable packaging. Heather at Rudy described its excellence to using only pure ingredients in their products including lemons, olive fruit oil, almond oils, coconut oils, aloe leaf juice and is paraben and sulfate free.
