In honor of the victims and tragedy of the Maui fires, Downtown Container Park will host a community fundraising event featuring Hawaiian artists, vendors and entertainers.

In partnership with the Las Vegas AAPI Chamber and Mahalo-Halo Las Vegas, Container Park will host ‘9th Island Love For Lahaina’ a Maui Strong fundraising event and benefit. On Sunday, August 27th from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests of Container Park and Las Vegas community members are invited to an evening of aloha featuring a variety of local vendors like Vintaged LV and Les Kekahuna, over a dozen live entertainers, Hawaiian food trucks lining the block and more.

Partial proceeds from sales made during the event will benefit various organizations providing services to those effected by this tragedy including the Maui Fire Relief Fund, Salvation Army and Maui Food Bank while the afternoon’s entertainment will forgo their performance fees to aid in the donation. Embracing the island spirit, Container Park’s stage will host an array of inspiring entertainers beginning at 3 p.m. including appearances by Bounce & Lady Reiko, Desiree & LeeHuh, BTR Kids Breakin’, Melody Rosa, Inafa’Maulek, Creed Chameleon, Hypnotiques, Mahi, Kennedy King and Sugatone.

The city’s premier culinary tour company, Lip Smacking Foodie Tours, is thrilled to debut an even more exciting version of its “Boozy Brunch’’ tour just in time for summer.

The tour that was crowned “Best Brunch’’ by the Las Vegas Review-Journal has been updated with a new roster of the hottest restaurants around. Guests will get to enjoy not just one, not two, but three outstanding brunches, all in one fun and convenient outing.

After operating out of the Vegas Test Kitchen for the last two years, Yukon Pizza is going brick and mortar. The beloved pizza concept is opening its very own doors in the Huntridge Neighborhood (inside the Huntridge Shopping center at 1130 East Charleston Suite 160), and promising a menu full of its popular sourdough pizzas, sourdough battered bites, as well as sandwiches, salads, and rotating specials paired with packaged beer and wine from area partners Alt Imports and Silver Stamp.

Although sourdough starters were all the rage during the pandemic, Yukon Pizza’s story starts well beyond two years ago. Founder Alex White’s Great-Great-Grandpa Gilbert started the family yeast culture during the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon Territories. From there, pieces of the starter were passed down through the generations, ultimately, getting into White’s hands as a high school graduation gift and college send off.

Even after that, though, White mostly used the starter for crafting sourdough pizzas for house parties and morning-after pancakes. 

Today, it’s a much different story. With an ownership team consisting of Alex White, Cameron White, Dani Garcia-White, and Chef Justin Ford – as well as a tight-knit team that feels like family – Yukon Pizza is ready to take the family’s sourdough starter to the next level.
